Second photoshoot planning

As my initial images are not my final ones I have been looking further into different camera angles and shots I can use for my new images. I want an image that really represents what the film is all about and gives the viewers a little hint of what each actress will be like. Here are a few images I have found that have inspired me for my next photo shoot which I will be arranging shortly.

I think the image on this front cover would work well for my products. You can tell the women is dominant by how confident she looks and the way shes walking infront of everybody else. Also the fact she's in bright colours and really stands out, wheras everybody behind her just murge into the background very dull. The camera shot is a long shot so this shows how pretty and important she is. Also, the actress looks the centre of attention and I think using an image like this (bride at the front and bridemaids at the back) will work better as it shows that the main focus is about the bride but the bridemaids are trying to take that away from her.

Secondly, I have used 'mean girls' cover again for inspiration. I like the way there is a divide between the girls. Therefore, I could have the bride infront more dominant and happy on her own, all excited for her big day and the bridesmaids at the back, maybe fighting, arguing ect. I also like the fact the poster isn't to busy but still hints what goes on in the film by the divide on the cover and the facial expressions used. Lastly, I think the way the girl at the front has her back slightly turned away from the other girls shows how she is maybe trying to ignore a situation. I think doing an image like this will help me convey what im trying to get across to my audience.

DVD magazine cover research

This lesson I have been researching different DVD magazine front covers to give me more inspiration of what I want my own to look like. I have found that 'chick flick' magazine front covers are not very popular on the Internet and I have struggled to find any really inspiring magazine. Therefore, I have looked at various film genres to get inspiration from the different features used on these magazines.

Changes

This lesson I have been viewing previous film posters/DVD cases to find inspiration for when I do my next photoshoot. I have found that in my own images the bride doesnt look as dominant or as happy as she should on her wedding day. Therefore, I want the bride to be infront and the bridesmaids at the back to show that the bride is more powerful. As I want more comedy to come through I am going to try a shot with the bridesmaids fighting in the background, I think this will look more conventional and go well with the storyline of my chick flick.

Feedback from poster

After getting feedback for my poster I have decided to make some changes to my products. I am now going to re-take my images. This is because I have been recommened to take some different camera angles that could be more successful for my project and compliment my theme better. This will hopefully make my poster more conventional.

Improvements cont.

improvements on poster

Here is another poster I have created. I have edited this poster further. I noticed that the background of my 1st poster was very plain and I wanted to make it a little more eye catching. I have just added a fade effect to the background to make the poster a little less simple. Also, I have rearranged some of my writing, I took out my slogan to see if what this would look like but I found the slogan gave a clue to what the film is about and works better on my poster.
